Well we’ve just received the list, from and Entertainment Weekly post, of who’ll be directing season 5 of Game of Thrones, and there aren’t many familiar faces on the list. As Entertainment Weekly points out, David Nutter is the only returning veteran of the show. It’s always interesting to me how something like this gets pulled off, since Game of Thrones has such a consistent look and tone, with such a major creative component in constant rotation. But then again, TV is considered more of a writers’ medium. It’s also worth noting that Alex Graves told Steve he will be back for Season 6 And as before mentioned, Nutter will return for the season’s final two episodes. All in all, it’s a great lineup of proven talents, and I’m looking forward to seeing how each of them contribute to Game of Thrones ‘ sure-to-be ambitious fifth season, which HBO will air in 2015.
