Series Will Reportedly Cast Latino Actors As Martell Clan, Film In Spain
With production underway on Season 5 (and after getting a few requests) I decided against my better judgement that it was time for another Casting, Rumor and Speculation post. Plus, I did not expect them to use North and South American actors, but casting Pedro Pascal last year changed everything.
As for last year's directors, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will continue as producers and writers, but I imagine both could return as directors in future seasons. The same goes for Alik Sakharov (who was the show's original director of photography) and Michelle MacLaren (so good that she recently signed a deal of her own with HBO). Should another battle episode be needed, Neil Marshall (Emmy-nominated for "The Watchers on the Wall") undoubtedly will be asked and hopefully will say, "Yes." As for Alex Graves, no means no.
The pilot reportedly cost HBO between US$5 and 10 million , 22 and the total budget for the first season had been estimated at US$50–60 million 23 In the second season, the show obtained a 15% budget increase to afford the most important battle in "The War of the Five Kings", the civil war central to the season. 24 The season 2 episode " Blackwater " had an increased budget of US$8 million and the average episode has a budget of US$6 million , which is two-to-three times more than a typical network or cable series costs per episode. 25 Adaptation schedule
Of course, even a program featuring such a plethora of personalities as Game of Thrones cannot continue a trend of whittling down its cast without introducing a few new characters every once in a while. Considering the absolute bloodbath that was the end of Season 3 and the rising death toll of Season 4, we’re going to be needing some new faces in the upcoming fifth season. Fortunately, HBO has released the names of 12 new characters that will be appearing–likely to kill, die, strip, and/or maim at some point – next year. Between what has been revealed by the network and the blanks that can be filled in by the source material, the fresh faces will certainly be welcome additions to whatever cast members survive the upcoming fourth season finale.
And for a season already high on the death count, this episode really sent the numbers off the charts. Bran's travel companion Jojen bit the dust and even the Hound got the life kicked out of him by Brienne of Tarth. As usual, Twitter was full of reactions to the episode from book readers angry about changes the HBO showrunners made, to lamenting the almost year-long wait for the next season of the happiest show on television. Have something to add? Lay it on me in the comments below. All season five (and beyond) speculation is welcome. Game of Thrones" fan site WinterIsComing.net has leaked some details about next season's cast. It seems that a great deal of the new characters to be casted are related to the Martell clan.
